Overview

Habits ("the app") is a habit tracking application developed by Lukas Salasevicius. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data We Collect

Habit Data — The app stores habit names, icons, colors, display settings, daily completion records, and archived habit records locally on your device only. This data is never transmitted to any external server or third party.

Notification Preferences — If you enable daily reminders, the app stores your chosen reminder times using your device's local storage (UserDefaults). Notification scheduling is handled entirely by iOS and does not involve any external service.

No Analytics or Tracking — The app does not use any analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking tools. We do not collect any usage data, identifiers, or behavioral information.

Apple Watch Sync

If you use the app alongside its Apple Watch companion, your habit data is synced between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This communication happens directly between your devices over your local network or Bluetooth and is never routed through any external server.

Notifications

If you grant notification permission, the app schedules local push notifications on your device as daily habit reminders. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely by iOS — no data leaves your device to send them.

You can disable notifications at any time in the iOS Settings app under Notifications > Habits, or within the app's Notification Settings screen.

Data Storage & Security

All app data is stored locally on your device. It is subject to the same security protections Apple provides for all app data, including device encryption when your device is locked. We do not have access to your data and cannot retrieve it remotely.

iCloud

The app does not currently use iCloud or any cloud sync service. Your data exists only on the specific device where the app is installed (and your paired Apple Watch, if applicable).

Data Deletion

To delete all data associated with the app, simply uninstall it from your device. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored habit data, notification settings, and preferences.

Children's Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes in the future, the updated version will be made available with the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will reflect any revisions.
